On October 29th a Nor’easter tore through Connecticut, snow fell, trees toppled, the power went out for the better part of a week – and Paws Pride and Four Paws Only held a fund raiser in Canton CT in the midst of it all and somehow managed to raise over $3,000

From the Canton News:

Four Paws Only LLC, a grooming, training, and pet care facility in Canton, recently donated $3,040 to Paws Pride, a non-profit division of Avon-based Oma’s Pride, which provides financial support to animal rescue operations. The donation was raised at a fundraiser held on Oct. 29, in honor of Carol Dobrozensky, the co-founder of Four Paws Only, who died last summer. The donations were distributed to Sandi Trudeau, co-owner of Oma’s Pride and founder of Paws Pride, who then disbursed $1,000 donations to three rescue organizations: New England Border Collie Rescue, Poodle Rescue of Connecticut, Inc., and Our Companions Domestic Animal Sanctuary.

“We held the fundraiser on Oct. 29, the day of the big storm in Connecticut,” said Mary Boylan, co-founder and owner of Four Paws Only. “In spite of the bad weather, we had a great turnout and were thrilled to raise this large sum in Carol’s honor. I then asked Sandi Trudeau at Paw’s Pride to identify rescue organizations that support Carol’s favorite breeds. While she loved all breeds, Carol owned a Border Collie, a Standard Poodle, and a Bichon Frise, and we believe donating to these organizations would appropriately honor Carol’s memory.”

“We are grateful for this generous donation from our friends at Four Paws Only in honor of Carol Dobrozensky, and excited to be able to help these wonderful groups,” said Sandi Trudeau, founder of Paws Pride. “We selected New England Border Collie Rescue, Our Companions, and Poodle Rescue of Connecticut because of the great work they do for the breeds Carol loved, and believe Carol would be pleased to be able to help them in this way.”
